When I’m not designing, you can find me at home with my wife, Sarah and our two dogs, Voodoo & Deedee. Chances are we’re binge-watching The Office, at Findlay Market, or drinking bourbon on our patio under the lights.
About Me
In December 2014, I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with my B.A. in Visual Communication Design and a minor in Marketing. Instead of going for my BFA, I wanted to take a different course than the one that was laid out for me. I felt drawn to learn about Marketing and the way the consumer will understand and interact with my designs. These classes I took have been invaluable to my career as not only a designer, but as someone who understands the full picture of the market.
In January 2015, I started my second design internship for Iacono Productions. From there, I was hired on as a Junior Designer, and one short year later, promoted to Designer. While at Iacono, I have developed my skills as a creative strategist, designer, presentation specialist, and graphics operator, while also constantly asking for more opportunities to hone my skills and develop new ones. I pride myself at always wanting and willing to learn.
In November 2019, I decided to take the next step in my career and move on to Mills James Productions - where I am able to do the best work in my career so far.
My creative approach when it comes to design and ideation is finding the meaning — the meaning in what the audience will take away from what they are seeing. The meaning behind brands, stories, and people’s lives that are all amplified from design and ideation. I not only love to work from the ideas clients give to me, but value the chance to ideate from scratch and pull apart the narrative that hasn’t always been uncovered yet. In my creative approach, you can find me making word banks, doodling iterations, bouncing ideas off my team, or taking a walk through downtown to figure out what ideas to refine. I love to work on a team and I thrive on feedback (really!).
I love to be challenged and to learn, and while I’m currently happily employed I am always looking for freelance opportunities. Lets connect!
